Some of you may remember that maybe a decade ago I began posting 108 things I’m grateful for on Thanksgiving. It started when Rev. Guy Williams challenged each of us in a class to list 100 things we were grateful for every day for a week.
I ended up wanting to combine this with a walk and soon realized it was utterly beyond me to 100 on my fingers as I walked. I needed a counting device of some sort. It took me a day or three to remember I have a small collection of Rosary beads. I grabbed my Buddhist set and was able to happily walk and count at the same time.
The Buddhist Rosary has 108 beads. When I decided to post gratitudes every Thanksgiving I continued with the numeric theme.
Yes, there are 109 this year – I decided to let it stand. And I could add both curiosity.and the ability to say ‘hello’ and ‘yes’ often.

For those of you who are curious, most days I write out a list of 8, 9, or 10 things I’m grateful for. I find a fistful of things I’m grateful for will usually move me mentally a better place.
Love and blessings,
