Please tell prospective employers you found them through the list at About Freelance Writing (www.aboutfreelancewriting.com).

If you've gotten a gig through this list we'd like to hear about it. Post your success on our forum. (If you're not a member you'll have to sign up but it's no big deal.)

Notes to Writers Looking for Freelance Writing Jobs: Contact the editors/employers directly through the contact provided in the job listings. The links here are valid for the writing job described when I post them. If the link takes you elsewhere it's because the posting has changed and I can't help you find it; I truly have no way to track them.

  36. Freelance Entertainment Writer Wanted
I'm looking for one entertainment writer to compose three articles per week for publishing on an entertainment blog, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Pay is $10.33/per 450 word article.

Writer must be able to write informative pieces, research the web and above all, compose original material without using foul language, snarky commentary or mean-spirited opinions. Ideally, I'm looking for someone who has an interest in all aspects of the entertainment industry from celebrities to television to film, can research topics (supplied each week or writer can submit their own for approval) and can write original, good copy. I'm a writer for various websites myself, and unfortunately I don't have time to update the blog as needed.

The chosen writer does not need to know how to upload photos, log-in to a blogging platform or anything similar; all submissions will be submitted to me and I'll take it from there. Writer will be given a byline for all material published.

I'm looking for a good writer who enjoys the entertainment industry and can write solid copy for publication on a blog three times each week, who understands spell check and who enjoys writing for the web.

Interested writers should send an email which includes any previous writing experience or links to writing samples (if any); why they think they would be perfect for the position and a 450 word sample on just one of the following topics:

    "Celebrity Babies: Up for Bid"
"Top 5 Best TV Shows for Teens"
"5 Books That Would Make Great Movies"

Applicants should include the word "WRITER" in the subject line. The sample article written by the chosen writer will be published as their first piece, so it would be a good idea for all writers to compose the sample as if they've already been hired for the position.

If the writer goes on vacation or will be unavailable for an extended period of time, writer must submit articles in advance – no exceptions.

Chosen writer for this position will be paid via PayPal every Friday. Submissions should be sent to me at tmockmore@gmail.com

If you're looking for fulltime or regional work, check Deborah Ng almost always daily jobs for writers - includes full-time and in-house listings, or  PoeWar.com and Writers Weekly. PoeWar also publishes guidelines for articles and gets notice when magazines and others are looking for specific pieces... there's a ton of good stuff on this site.
