Writer's Market Companion is a nice addition to Writer's
Market. It's way more relaxed and conversational. Of course, it
doesn't have thousands of market listings either. What it does
offer is guide to most everything in freelance writing. You'll
find discussions of queries and writing online and rights, how to
conduct interviews and how to think about the writing business.
Much of the material was drawn from interview with working
writers; some of the material was actually contributed by working
writers. Not as essential as Writer's Market, the Writer's
Market Companion is great for newcomers to the game or for those
who want to branch out. It would also make a great gift for
someone who wants to become a freelance writer. |
