Okay, this isn't a book about writing. In fact,
some of the writing in this classic drives me nuts. But if you're
a freelance writer who wants to experience more abundance, this
book is an absolute must. Ponder, whom I consider the Grande
Dame of prosperity thinking, opens this book with:
The shocking truth about prosperity
is that it is shockingly right instead of shockingly wrong for you
to be prosperous. Please note that the word 'rich' means having an
abundance of good or living a fuller, more satisfying life.
Indeed, you are prosperous to the degree that you are experiencing
peace, health, happiness and plenty in your world. There are
honorable methods that can carry you quickly toward that goal.
It is easier to accomplish than you may now think. That, too, is
the shocking truth about prosperity.
The book is full of sometimes sappy
seeming stories of housewives and business people who, through
changing their thinking, increased their income. There are
probably at least a thousand affirmations, that range from things
like "Everything and everyone prospers me and I prosper everything
and every one" to paragraph long statement echoing roughly the
same thing.
Yes, this book can be a real chore to
read. But damn it, it works. Read this book, work through
even a few of the exercises, memorize some of the affirmation and
you can't help but change your thinking about your income, and
your abundance in general - to the positive.
We really do have the opportunity to
change our lives by changing our thinking, and this book helps.
